ImpexQ ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website at https://impexq.com and the HSN Scout Chrome Extension. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. By using ImpexQ, you agree to the practices described here.

1. What We Collect

Account Data

Email address — when you sign up or verify your account
Plan status — free or pro, updated on payment
Verification status — whether your email has been verified

Usage Data

Search queries — product descriptions you search for
Results — trade data returned for your queries
Search count — daily and total usage for plan enforcement
Saved results — lookups and reports you choose to save

Technical Data

IP address (hashed) — stored as a one-way hash for rate limiting and abuse prevention; we cannot recover your real IP
User agent — browser and OS string, used for session management
Session token — stored in a secure, httpOnly cookie (30-day expiry)
Platform — whether you accessed via web or Chrome extension

Payment Data

Payments are processed by a certified payment gateway. We do not store your card number, UPI ID, or bank details. We only retain a payment reference ID, the plan purchased, and subscription dates for your records.

2. How We Use Your Data

To provide and improve the HSN search and calculator services
To send one-time verification codes (not marketing emails)
To enforce daily usage limits for free accounts
To detect and prevent abuse, spam, and scraping
To manage Pro subscriptions and verify access
To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve service quality

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share individual search queries outside the infrastructure required to deliver the service.

3. Third-Party Infrastructure

We use trusted third-party services to operate ImpexQ. These services receive only the minimum data required to perform their function:

4. Cookies

We use a single functional cookie to maintain your login session. It is:

httpOnly and Secure — not accessible to JavaScript
Set with SameSite=Lax to prevent cross-site request issues
Expires after 30 days or immediately on logout

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies beyond anonymous performance monitoring (page load times, error rates) with no personally identifiable information.

5. Find Buyers Directory

When you use the Find Buyers feature:

Contact views are tracked — each time a Pro or Business user views unmasked contact details, we record the view to enforce monthly usage limits
View history — stored in our secure database; used only for plan enforcement, not for profiling or resale
Importer data — sourced from publicly available trade directories and business registries; we do not own or sell this data
Business users have no monthly view cap; Pro users are capped at 100 unmasked contacts per calendar month

6. Chrome Extension — HSN Scout

The HSN Scout Chrome Extension:

Sends only the search query you type to ImpexQ to retrieve trade data
Does not read your browsing history, page content, or tabs
Does not track you across websites
Stores only your email locally for convenience — removable by uninstalling the extension

7. Data Retention

Account data — retained while your account is active
Sessions — expire after 30 days; purged periodically
Usage logs — retained for 12 months for abuse prevention
Saved results — retained until you delete them
Verification codes — expire after 15 minutes

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you
Delete — request deletion of your account and all associated data
Correct — update your account information
Export — download your saved searches from your dashboard
Withdraw consent — stop using the service and request deletion at any time

9. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data: secure httpOnly session cookies, hashed IP addresses, server-side credentials never exposed to browsers, and TLS encryption for all data in transit and at rest. No system is 100% secure — please report any concerns to support@impexq.com.

10. Children

ImpexQ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us for prompt deletion.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of ImpexQ after changes constitutes acceptance. Significant changes will be communicated via email if you have an account.
